well i think something is wrong with my motor.
the symtoms are:
~950-1000 RPM idle. (at random times, cold or hot)
~the car doesnt seem as peppy in the lower RPM's, like under 4 grand, its like a going against its will sort of feeling.
~it feels liek i have to give it more gas than usual, especially going up hills
I talked to Richie, and he might think i have some sort of Vacuum leak, like the fuel pressure regulator or something, but i checked and i dont think any air is leaking.
also, imo one thing that might contribute to this problem is, i went through a very large puddle not too long ago, and it caused my pulleys to squeak at idel for about a day. and what i think might of happened is it weakend some of the pulley's rotational power. and what might be happening is my motor is takign extra effort to keep its revolutions.
Richie also said, my belt tensionor, idle pulley, and tensionor spring might have to be replaced.

Do simple things first:
Look around your transaxles see if anything is wrapped around them, also look around the rear spindles.
When did you last change your fuel filter?
Any SES lights?

very very doubtfull, even if i did, it wouldnt have much of an effect since i have a WAI.
but for the most part i hit this puddle on the passenger side, so a majority of dirty water splashed up on that side.

id say change the fuel filter, check your air filter, clean the egr, throttle body, you checked all the vacuum otherwise id say inspect that(spray bottle with water/soap mixture)........

You have the 3400 right? If it has maf sensor, I would check that...that is what my gf's eclipse did when the maf when out... it started like that, but then it got progressively worse...

haha i have 3400 also and was having same symptoms except my light came on... first time this happened it was the little plug connecting to my MAF sensory, i musta jerked it a lil too hard when installing my CAI so the wires wernt connecting very good, like a 5 dollar fix, the second and most recent the oxygen/fuel valve thing was sticking,. if it is dieing or their is just some carbon build up im not sure, brought it to a local garage and they fixed it with their lil scanner thing but im still going to try and figure out how to use seafoam.. i recommend you do that also.

But what about the MAF itself??? Maybe someone else on here can shed some light, but at idle I think you just unplug it and if it changes then that's what it is...or something like that, I don't remember what we did to check it.
