i would talk to kyle "-Alero-".
the biggest thing is just keeping the poop clean. you could eat off of his engine if you wanted to.
he has some tasteful wire loom, but other than that, it's just clean, and it looks really nice. my favorite engine bay by far, even before we attempted to polish a few things.
so i say get some wireloom, pick a color scheme and stick with it. kyle might have a LITTLE too much yellow, but other than that it's clean.

When I was doing it back in the day we just used to use a genaral purpose cleaner like armoral makes or whoever you happen to find and a paint brush. Basically you just spray the heck out of it with the cleaner and then follow around with the paint brush to loosen up the dirt and get in those little spots and then spray it off...we used hot water, but regular water works just the same

I thought it was bad to spray your engine with water.

I'm starting to dress up the bay more with new loom, and I just repainted the manifold.
I left it on the engine this time. A little overspray, but not much at all.

yeah, just don't spray the heck out of it...i mean put your sprayer nozzle on the mist deal and not the direct stream that can take your skin off and you'll be fine.

what i did was take it to a car wash, set the pressure washer on engine cleaner, spray away all around the engine and then rinsed it but i made sure the pressure washer was like 3 feet away from the engine so i dont have so much pressure hitting the engine ^_^
worked like a charm
