Shaved Not Removed Door Handles

I'm curious if it would be possible to shave the door handles down so that they are flush with the door, without completely removing them. I've never seen this done, but I would be interested in any ideas you all have on it.

Yea it could be done, you would probably have to do some metal work to recess the handle into the door to make it flush and maybe shave some of the handle down to make it look smooth. Never seen it done or tried it but would probably look pretty cool.

I'm curious as to what kind of look your trying to go for. The door handle is already pretty flush as it is, how much closer can you get without actually removing and shaving. If your gonna go that way go ALL the way. Probably cost less in the long run.
