I am looking for some sound dampning material to put in my trunk and in my trunk lid. Should I use Dynomat or some other material?? And how hard is it to put in with two people?? And do I have to take out my carpet or can I put it under my carpet??

i used dynamat and put it under the carpet, and you dont need two people to do it, just make sure you follow the instructions

you will need to put it under your carpet just roll it up into the back seat...

Also....there is something banging in the middle of the trunk. It is not really a rattle, just annoying banging sound. Is it the 3rd brake light?? Thanks

yeah, I heard some people talking about taht once...I think its that flat above the number plate that rattles. Try pumping some greatstuff expanding foam ($5 a can from Home Depot) into that area--I used that stuff in my friend's blazer and it sounds 100% clean, no rattles anymore...just make sure you're careful not to spill any on the paint of the car or anywhere where it'll be seen, doesnt come off too easily (at least not off plastic) <_<

I used "Gaps and Cracks" by the way.

I dont know if Id recommend using "great stuff" i think it has a tendency to expand and contract with changing temperatures...to what degree I do not know. If you insist on using spray foam i recommend the kind that the company "DAP" makes as this stuff is easy to remove and doesnt turn as hard as a rock like the great stuff will...so if you do overspray or get it where you dont want it its easy to remove. As far as that plastic piece above the license plate that says alero on it I recommend just taking some packaging foam and putting it behind it. When the subs hit in your trunk this piece flexes out and then vibrates against the piece behind it, making it flex out slightly by using something such as foam, spray foam etc. will cure a lot of that problem. Also putting dynomat behind your license plate can keep that from rattling if it does at all.

yeah, you can get that stuff from www.b-quiet.com....I got some of the b-quiet cheap stuff and even that is equal in performance to the dynamat (I think so at least)...the brown bread is thicker and has higher sound dampening spec ratings than both the b-quiet and the dynamat so I figure that must be awesome
