the 8000k might burn up your harness. check the wattage to be safe.

its safe...just ask yourself this...do you want more blue or more bright...if blue, go 8, if bright, go 6

here's a pic of the 6000K. I haven't yet got the 8000K, I'm still debating if I want to go to 8000 or just stay with 6. Its going to be a little bit of time before I do it anyhow, coming into the summer months I dont get a paycheck so right now its on hold.

I love the way the double0alero looks!
but its all white in the other pic with the other pic (silverstar vs HID)eag182's photos.
it if looks just like double0alero i think that would be perfect.
but the pic under eag182's i would want a bit more of a blue tint

I'd go more blue than bright, just 'cause I know how blinding those f*ing lights are when you're coming the opposite direction :P ha, just my $0.02

I'd recommend going with the 6000k. My buddy got the 8000's and ended up selling them in a month because he got sick of the blue. Then again it all depends on the color of ur car and what ur going for. I'd go with the 6000k just becaise I think it looks more clean and it doesn't look like those factory BMW's.... way to damn blue!!!

I personally think that even the 6000°K is to blue to drive with, and i work 2nd shift so I'm always driving home with them. It is over the legal color temperature as well. I would prefer a 5000°K, however one of mine went out and i got some 4300°K ones cheaper, so i just put those in. They're MUCH brighter than the 6000°K bulbs, and they still make silverstars look yellow. I've got pics comparing the 6000°K Vs standard, and the 6000°K Vs the 4300°K somewhere.

Depends on what you would call "blue" i guess....
left is 4300°K and right is 6000°K
5000°K is usually considered white.
although, degrees kelvin isn't really a good measure for gas discharge lamps.. read here..

Oh, and the color temperature doesn't make any difference in the actual temp of the bulb, just the emitted light. The HID uses 35 watts regardless.

well the color of my car is a dark navy blue
the pic that cliff posted looks pretty good
im still a bit undecided but leaning more towards 6000k because i really do not want to end up with a really purplish light.
but the 6000k kinda scare me as well because i do not want to be to bright

wow those 8000k are very blue, do you get any troublewith the cops??
beacuse i would rather have a blue like that vs blinding people on the road causing wrecks.
have any pics looking at the front of the car?
if not thats fine

i do but not here at work.
Well every other acura has HID's so I get away with it from the luxury aspect. The older TL (2nd gen) has almost purple headlights so its almost stock looking.
I got pulled over one time because my headlight was out and the cop never said anything about the color, just gave me a warning ticket.
half the trouble you get into is the car your in to...remind you my car from the outside is all stock so i dont draw the attention like a car with a full kit and rims would. think thats another reason i dont get in trouble as much..I can guarantee ya if i had these on the alero id be getting tickets left and right

Nope, they actually draw LESS power than the stock halogen lights. All of the HID headlights only draw 35w.
Oh, and the maximum legal color temperature is something like 5600°K
