how easy/hard is it to mount LEDs in the heating vents? am I going to have to drill any holes or do some form of contortionism to get into that space?

i got 3 inch neons in each of the 4 vents, yeah you have to drill holes unless you want the neons to lay at the bottom of the vent and bounce around when you are driving. Its not that hard just remove the vents "carefully" and drill some holes...no bigger than what you need though so its a snugg fit and they dont move. Hit me back if you need more info or pics....

Damn.... and I thought that I'd be the first person to mount LED's in the vents... oh well. Tell me how it goes man! I'm probably not going to have the time to install them until late April when exams are over...

alrighty, will do....I still need to know how to physically get IN to the vent to mount the LEDs in there....and I don't have a kit, I'm just getting those individual LED bulbs from oznium....I'm still trying to think of a way to secure them so they don't dance around when I'm driving...I'm thinging of maybe putting in a screw then wrapping some of the wire around it near the end so it can't travel as far...or would that be a bad idea?

tips on getting into the vents would be much appreciated as well

there is a how-to on how to remove the vents in the how-to section somewhere and drilling a hole is drilling a hole...not much to explain...you wont need some wire to stop it from bouncing around...i didnt...it should stay snug in the hole...then just run the wires to your switch...i will post pics soon

what did you do? just drill a hole large enough for the LED to fit snugly inside of? or did you put the LED right INSIDE of the heating vent sticking in a ways? I was thinking of having it right inside of the vent...but if having it half mounted to the vent and snugly fit would work better I may just do that.

to mount my LEDs i went to radio shack and bought some LED holders that require a 1/4" hole. You could peobably get tehm briter by facing them foward but I enjoy a slight dim ness by pionting them up . Just experiment with positioning before you decide on final placement
