Has anyone had a rpoblem with their drivers side window not working. Mine was working fine and then one day it worked in the morning and just stopped after work! I haven't opened up the door panel yet, cause it's too freaken cold here, but when I press the button nothing happens... All other window work fine, I'm hoping it's just a loose wire or something easy. No warrenty left here... and I don't want to go the dealership and get hosed...
Anyone have suggestions?

I had to replace the switch on my driver's side. It was warranty work though, so I didn't pay much attention, it was just fixed when I got it back.

Mine stops working if its really cold outside
After about 15 minutes .The button starts to work. I have no idea why I've learned to live with it

It's a possiblly that the wire shrinks and expands with the weather

It's just another one of Alero's many defects. I had mine fixed last month and it's already down again. The dealership and the guy who fixed it (dealership charged too much) told me it's something they come to "expect" with 90 percent of all Aleros (and i live in the south, so it's not a weather-thing). Only the dealership told me i needed a whole new regulator, whereas the guy told me it was just a loose wire. I don't know. i do know i gotta get it fixed again issed:

Just ONE more reason I am glad I have the GX with manual windows. Power windows are always a problem. All the cars in my family with power windows have had problems. Even the beloved "Honda's"

is it hard to switch from power to manual? Both of my regulators are bunnyed and I don't wnat to send the money to fix them cause they will just break agin when it's -40 degrees.

I am sure it could be done by going to a junk yard and finding a GX and getting the door panels and the parts out of the door that rolls the window up and down.

So what do you guys recomend? Mine also just started not working again. The first time it happened it didn't work for about a full day or two then it worked without fail. Now just about a week ago or so it stopped working again and hasn't come back to life yet. No warranty here so if i went to the dealer it would be expensive, what do you guys recomend, should I go to dealer anyway?? At least the window is up and not down i guess.
