is this a common problem?

Last may I hit a small pothole and broke my coil spring ,Ijust put it off to the the many potholes and bad road surfaces . Until last week when I heard aodd noise coming from my right front corner here the coil spring on this side had broke also .is this a common problem or is this just a fluke?

no the weather has been quite balmy

one side broke high on the spring and the other about the middle

somewhat of a common problem, atleast with us other n-bodies (malibus and GA's)


usually due to a bad mount which when turning will twist the spring and in turn weaken it.. or so has been claimed by some who have had this problem
