voltmeter gauge

i'm putting in a voltmeter gauge in my car. it is a four wire. what color wire is the ACC ON behind the dash to the left of the stereo.

Red - ACC ON
Black - Ground (duh)
White - night lamp
Orange - Battery

I would like to do this after work and i'm leaving in 5 mins. Please help me i wired it in and didn't work the way it should so i'm going to start over from step one.

I don't know the color but an easy way to check is to use a test light. Just hook aligator clip to ground and check each wire. The one that comes on when you turn the key on and goes off when you turn it off is your ACC. wire to use! Hope this helps!

what brand did you go with on the gauges........i dont remember having to hook up 4 wires, i think it was ground, illumination, and acc.......

but ground to ground......illumination to the fuse panel on the passenger side for dash lights(what i used).........battery to anything 12 volts, and acc with anything that turns on with the key like radio....you can tap that off a fuse as well.......
