Hey, Just Bought an Alero
Hey yall, I'm new here and to Aleros.
I'm 16 and I just purchased my 4th car last Saturday. No, I'm not a rich spoiled kid, whose parents buy him everything he wants. I work hard for what I've got. My previous vehicles: 1st was a 1979 Mercury Capri (project car), 2nd was a 95 Dodge Intrepid (daily driver for a while), 3rd and latest was my 89 Jeep Wagoneer that I partially restored. Anyways, down to the Alero.
This is my (and my family's) first GM product. It is a 2001 Olds Alero GLS 2dr. It has the 3.4 and about 73k miles on it. It has sunroof, leather, CD player, 16"s . It has the spoiler and I believe it has the sports suspension. I bought it for $4200. The only bad part is that it needs two window regulators and both windows are down. They should get here by the end of the week, though, and I'll be rollin!
Here's some pics: (I know it needs washed, but not with both windows down!)

yeah, get used to replacing the regulators on a regular basis. i am still on the original on the pass side, but on number 8 on the driver side, crazy...
anyways, the car looks great. enjoy it...

I heard the blower motor resistors go out fairly often on these cars, is that true? If it is, no big deal, just $17 at Napa.

Nice car, I like the color. Yes on the blower motor resistor. Look to make sure your LIMG isn't leaking too.
NO ONE HAS TOLD HIM TO CLEAR HIS CORNERS YET????

Not sure what LIMG is, but I'm guessing Lower Intake Manifold Gasket?

Welcome to the site! I have a 2000 GLS Coupe. Same stuff, only my wheels look different. I haven't had my blower moter resister short out yet..... and my window regulators are both working.... The passenger side is a little on the slow side compared to the driver's side, so that one might be going out... lol

Welcome to Aleromod. Get a set of wheels and lower it if you can afford it., clear the corners, remove door molding etc.... Have fun with it, but tastefully.

Just to chime in.

nice alero. I have a 2001 bright red 2 days. Had to have the LIMG replaced at 56K along with the EGR valve. The drivers wiindow regular around 88K, then I got smashed by a drunk kid and got a new paint job, lol. I'm at about 108.5K now and no new issues... yet. Mines all debadged (the front was filled in when the front bumper met a Ford Edge while I was in Target shopping). Do what you want to the car, personally I think clear corners are the rice of Alero's. Treat it nice and it'll treat you nice back PS welcome aboard!

Looks good..
Got the same car.. bought it for conciderably more...
Got the same rims too.. my fav stock alero rims.. hate those other polished ones with the indented rim spokes..
Keep the rims clean and they will continue to look like that for a long while..
