install factory spoiler

with a facory spoiler thats intact with all nuts and bolts how do you install it? under the hood i see no hole to get the bolts through. i know you drill on the top of the spoiler on the outside but on the inside its solid. so no way to get to the bolts after inserted through the top?

I bought one, but it came with a template to allow me to place the holes correctly. Without the template, you'll have to line up the spoiler and measure to get it even. The back/trailing edge of spoiler should be even with the back edge of the trunk. After measuring and marking the holes, make sure you use a center punch before drilling. This will keep the drill bit from slipping around. I would also suggest making your own template to make sure the holes line up correctly.

the bolts that are in the spoiler are they long enough to go all the way through the trunk than i just screw the nuts on the ends?

Mine must have been different. I put the bolts in from the underside of the trunk. They just screwed into threaded holes in the spoiler base. There were no nuts used.

You bought a new aftermarket one or OEM one? I was hoping that there would be some markings in the trunk to make it easy. And how did you seal the holes?

i just had my dad help me and we set it on and measured it up so it looked right. When we drilled the holes they came through right where they would from the factory, so i'd say its pretty close just doing it that way.

howd u know u werent gunna hit any wiring or damage anyting u cant really see anyting between the outside and inside of the trunk lid?

I didn't see any markings. Just measured and drilled the holes. There is some rust preventor to put around the hole and the bolt goes through the hole. There is a rubber pad that goes on the base of the spoiler to prevent water from getting in.
