Remove everything from well. 3 layers strand mat 1.5 oz total. Leave a fiberglass flange around the top surface. Cut a 3/4" MDF panel as needed, glass it over the well. Done.

I had Visions Electronics do it for me as I don't know squat on how build this stuff...my subs are 12's and fit perfectly...the well in the alero is bigger than mine so you shouldn't have problems fitting 12's in there

I dont think your going to get 2 12's in there. Thats 24" across... pretty sure theres not that much room.
Personally I hate the looks of it. I hate the sound also. Aiming subs up like that just sucks. Always has, always will (in cars). If you want a small box, get a smaller sub or get a sub suited for a small sealed box and be happy.

Speaking from experience aiming boxes up like that sucks. Ive done it with 2 12's. 3 12's, 2 10's. Ive also done 2 10's in the rear deck of my car, and that sucked terribly.
So the point Im trying to drive home is in relative terms aiming subs up in the trunk sucks. Especially when you can aim them towards the rear (sealed) it will seem twice as loud or more. Or aiming them to the front ported, which is the loudest.
So what your looking to do is fairly easy, its been done a lot. It works, but its not the best. I just want you to be forewarned.
I know ive put a lot of effort into some installs to be unhappy. Hell I cut up the rear deck of my car. Special box, fiberglass... Tore it all out 3 days later I was that unhappy.

That depends strictly on the vehicle. Some cars like subs up port back. But you cannot simply say that all subs up in a trunk suck.
In my experience with the Alero, I have a .8 db gain by facing the sub and port forward than having it all firing towards the rear. I gained another .8 by popping the trunk

ya its all trial and error
ill figure it out i have the day off tommaro so ill just mess around alittle bit and see what i can come up with if worse comes to worse will just build a smaller box for the 15's so they'll still hit hard and enable more trunk space mabye 20 by 22 or 22 by 24 so it wont be a few inches from the 6x9's ne more

That will hold true on any car with a trunk like an alero (non hatch back, separate compartment). Bet ya $10

+1 for Ryan
If you got a box in your car now and think Im full of it go give it a try. Aim the box straight up. Then stop back in here. In 13 years Ive tried doing it many ways

I said some cars like subs up. I said in my post that the Alero does not. It depends on the vehicle for SPL.
