Starting problems?
Hey everyone, its me again Okay, well this Monday night I had a hard time starting the car, but it started. Next morning (Tuesday), I was going to start it, but it didnt start. That whole day I tried to start it, but to no avail. Wednesday, I tried again. A mechanic suggested I hit the gas tank while someone tried to start it. This didnt work either. So yesterday I wasnt able to start it either. After discussing this with Kniedelm9490 today, he asked me if the security light would turn on. I went to check, and the car started very easily. I turned it off, and then was able to start it again. Does anyone know what could have happened or maybe is still happening. Ive got the Ecotec 2.2

Oh, I forgot to say that when I wasnt able to start it, it would crank and crank, but the engine wouldnt start.

I was going to take the car to the mechanic, but it didnt start again. I am starting to think that it is either the Passlock or the fuel pump. I am going to try the key on the on position for 10 minutes to see if it works. Thanks for the quick reply.

yah bro.. we need to know if the light is flashing that would be the issue.. i had the pass lock go off 2 times tonight its such a pain in @$$... im so pissed off right now

Just got back from the mechanic. He said it was some switch behind the cylinder lock that is sending a weak current to the fuel pump and turn signals. This is why the car wouldnt turn on and the turn signals wouldnt turn on. What the guy is going to do is put a relay to strenghten the signal. According to him that will fix it (and he did do a temporary fix for me to take it to his shop). He said this will work until the switch completely dies. Hopefully by then Ill have a job to pay it.

Today, I brought the car back from the mechanic. Everything seems to be working just fine now. Now Ill have to see how long this
lasts.
