Stuck in the middle of lowering the car :(

Hey guys

I'm in the middle of lowering my alero with s/t springs and struts.
been at it all day, mostly due to the fact that I've never done any suspension work, ever.

so the front went ok, took like 2.5 hours on one side, mostly figuring it out. then 30 minutes to change the other side.

But now I'm on the rear.
1. I can't for the life of me get the damping nut of the strut to take everything apart. I even reinstalled the whole strut again to try to use my breaker bar on it and all it did was turn the piston. so I stopped. did anyone have similar dificulties? what should I try?

2. took a pic of the new rear spring beside the old one, and it looks way different, is it supposed to have all the extra coils?

Any help would be awesome

I had to use an impact gun when I was doing mines. There is suppose to be a tip in the tube so you can hold it from spining(on top of the nut), but then my wrench didnt fit the bearing plate. Anyway here is a "How to" http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showt...anging+springs

thanks man
that was actually the how-to I was going by.
My impact worked on one of them but the other I had to put in a vice and clamp the whole assembly to the work bench and jerk it with a breaker bar, took forever.
