Interior Lighting
Ok so heres the deal.. I am getting Cathode Tubes, for my Front foot wells, and under rear seats. it will be 2 Dual Kits. the powering for that and the switch is all set.
But now heres what i want to do, to customize even more. I am going to get 2 'white' colored LED strips, http://superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/s...i?product=BARS.
and i want to put it on the door, so when the door(s) open, the Strips will turn on with the dome light.(ill power it through that) How much clearance is there between the lower edge of the door, and the Door jam????!! if thats what its called. Because i would mount it on that part, so if the door opens, it turns on and when the door shuts it will go out. When its on it would be visible on the Ground surface. i think that it would look siick, and totally give it a custom feel/ look to it, in addition to the Blue under the seats already.

Ehh... it might work depending on the strips. I have seen some real slim ones... but its really hard to say. I know that space isn't very big at all. Good idea though. Just remember, where theres a will there is a way.

there is absolutely a way to tap into a line, that'll turn that on....
... i just don't know where it is.
and i suppose you could get a piece of cardboard, or folder paper, tape it to the bottom of the door, and see if it hits. Just make sure its the same width as the light strip.

lol, i know there is a way to tap it, i plan on doing it through the dome light wires, and tap into power and ground.. and that carbord is a great idea, i nvr thought about trying that.. ill do that tomorrow.

and thanks for thinking it was a good idea, i thought it was to, and figured that with the car color, and blue underseats, the white would be a great finishin touch

you can't just tap into the power and grond for the dome lights. it doesn't work like that on our cars. both wires going to the dome lights are positive and one switches to negative when the door opens.

if you want to make your own, www.oznium.com sells plunger switches. just drill one of those into the door frame, and make it your "contact"

trust me dude, ill make it work. and there is 3 acually. atleast on mine.. 2 are power for the light, and the third is for the switch set to Door.. so when the door opens it turns on.. so i need on tap into 2.. unless i do a monetary switch and have that setup on the door.
But all in all, i am very creative with shit like this, and i will make it work
