Cd Deck

ok so i went to go buy a cd deck from circuit city for my 2002 olds alero dont kno the model type. but its a v6 3.4, anyways the guy is lookin it up on the comp to see if it will fit, but then hes like oh the whire harness is 109$ because all the security stuff runs threw the stock comp, i researched wat this gm harness was, its basicly for onstar n stuff which my car does not have. So basicly im asking if the secuirty and warning lights thing is true, and that what everyone else paid for a whire harness.

Yea. you need a harness that will allow you to keep the chimes and stuff.

I found one at Wal-mart for 10 bucks, not the one I used. I lost my chimes and had to run separate wires for alot of stuff.

dude I went to my guy for a harness and i got the harness and all the harware to install the thing for like 50$ the harnes was 20$ and its just a regular one for like a pontiac grand am. You dont need the harness all it does is make the ding sound when your door is open.

Ryan from Ohio will become famous soon enough
Basically its to retain the chimes when you pull your lights on at the switch and forget to shut it off or when your keys in the ignition and you open the door.

Is that worth $110 to you? If not then buy the regular $10 harness.

Yeah I have the Class II BS in my car. One shop tried charging me for the expensive harness when I already told them I had one they could use(the 10$ one). So I found another shop and they did everything I told them to do, and I saved 100 dollars because my dad's dealership got the guy a good deal on a truck a few years ago the only thing you gotta do is run a switched 12v to headunit because the 10 dollar harness doesn't have one :o

Oh, walmart has the expensive one for 40 dollars. lol

i wanted to give an update, i went to walmart and found the 40$ wireharness so i go back to circuitcity to get the cd player i want because it comes with a free ipod jack wire. after 45 mins of the guy bein a rooster to me the he finally says he cant give it to me cuz the ipod jack only comes with the free install, weres on the website it says that both intallation and ipod jack are free with purchase lols. and that they wouldnt take my debt card because it doesnt have my first name on it even though last name matches. i kno i shouldnt flame circuit city. but you guys should really be careful when dealing with them. so i have the wireharness just now i need to get the cd deck :/
