Vertical Lambo Doors

I want to give the lambo doors a serious thought, it doesnt seem like it would be too hard, i know I need a pair of shocks for each side, some vertical lifters, and a minor wire harness extension.......does anyone know anyone whos done it, or if on that grandam website they have a how to or anything like that.......

i say.. money wasted... personally don't think it would look good on the alero... but if you need more info, try here... Autoloc :thumbsup:

it really would be sweet to give this a go, I know basically how it would need to work, swing out a little first then up.......I saw so many people knockin the idea on yours......talking about all the added stress because of only one hinge, but also lets forget the added shock taking off a lot of that stress on the one hinge.....I think this is a good project.....

I honestly think it would probally look good, and I wish I had the money. Hopefully you can be the firsrt. Just a lot of people come up ideas like this, but never can get enouhg money to do it.

to be honest if you have a real good understanding of how it works, and how it needs to be mounted, parts wouldnt be nearly as much as you think it would be......I want to go down to home depot and looks at all their hinges.......you need the door to rotate out around 30-40 degrees.......then with the push up the shock extends outward holding the door up, which in theory gives the door to hinge points when the most stress is put on the car.......now I get the upper hinge part, but how the shock extracts and contracts all while being able to close the door I dont get.......even with the pictures on the site jackal put up there......

Sounds like you have the premise of making your own kit. At least component-wise, if not functionality-wise. If you get it on with photos, you'll pull alot of interest from the site and maybe make some sells. Good luck with it and prepare to empty your bank account.

Well, aren't we the smug ass. I don't know the prices, part by part. I only know how much a general kit cost. If you can go to home depot and find the parts cheap, and still make it reliable, more power to you. But like i've said before, Seeing is believing.

I never really looked into it but I know you will need a speical hinge that opens out and then up. I saw a car at the track like that. I think it will look good on an Alero, but I don't know if it's good for a daily driver.

There is a guy on eBay selling a parts list and directions for this. Check that out I think it's like 3 or 5 bucks

you should find a beater and try it on that first then do it to the alero i assume you have the coupe?

nah you brought down I think it was jackal when he wanted to.......and now me.......just wondering.......and thanks guys for all the suggestions......ive seen that guy on ebay and wanted to just check the info out, i mean for like 3 or 4 bucks you cant go wrong.......but never really had the urge to try the doors until now.....

and alero168, thats a good idea, i wish i had the money for a car like that, id do it to my brothers accord but he has to drive that thing around to school........

Apparently, you've got your facts twisted, playa. Point out to me in this post or in Jackal's thread where I say "Stupid idea" "Waste of money" "Too much work, don't try it". I've offered nothing but enthusiam and support on the project. I even gave links to websites that might be of help. Only thing i said was to be cautious of your budget. But if you're so narrow minded that you can't decipher "support" from "put downs", then "F" it.

I agree with what someone else said. If you can make a kit for cheapier, then you would get some sells. Hell if I could come up with the money I wiould be interested. Good luck to you, keep us updated

unless you do body work for a living this will be a costly modification to do
leave the doors alone
why not shave the handles, shave the body lines flat, this is just my opinion leave the doors the way they are meant to be opened
