I finally got my stereo installed. Its a panasonic ghost face deck that crutchfield said wouldnt fit and i found out they werent lying. It took alot of work to get it in there but now its done. I also ran 4gauge power wire to power my rockford fosgate bd1000 amp. I have two 10" JL Audio W6V2 in a ported sub zero box. I tell you what i havent ever heard a car that handles bass so well stock. The speakers do great, the car doesnt rattle at all, and everything fit like a glove. :P I also put an 8 disc cd changer in the trunk so i dont have to mess with cds. Oh and i have a question for all you stereo junkies out there. do rockford fosgate 3 way 6x9s sound good and how bout their 2 way 4x6. What speakers do you guys think would sound best in this car with a cost of less than 350 for all four?

I had 3 12's in my trunk at 1 point and had very little rattle coming from there. I've always heard it was a common problem with Alero's but I didn't have any problem with it.

Yeah you are lucky. I have one Kicker 12 inch Solo Baric L7 and when I first put it in you could hardly hear the bass for all the rattles.

I currently have 4 - 10 inch Jensen subs in my trunk and it's amazing no bolts have rattled out. That think sounds horrible from the outside. I'm gonna eventually have to dynamat the trunk.

Yeah i dont know what is up with the alero that is weird that it doesnt rattle. But with how hard that bass hits im sure something will be rattling soon

Did anybody else have problems getting a wire to attach to the battery terminal cuz it was a pain in the ass for me.

Well I didn't have that problem, because I wired my amp to the distribution block like you are supposed too

At the back of your engine bay there is a black plastic cover that has a picture of a battery or something on it. Unscrew it, and take it off. You will see there is a spot to run your power too right on there.

Thats all fine and well if your runing a small amp... however if you have any amp that draws over 30 amps i wouldnt recommend runing it off the distrabution block.
Simply because the size of the wire from the batt to the dys block is quite small i think its less than 4awg.... so if your runing a power wire more than 8awg i would go off the batt directly

good call BLK03GXS. The small size of the distrobution block limits your amps size and quantity that can be installed. It is safer to run the cable directly to the battery and avoid any problems.

regarding getting your 4awg on your battery. Get a new post:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lEExXoPdGVB/c...1&avf=N&search=

I used a RF one. Best buy sells it for like 10 bucks i think. It screws in, the cable that usually goes to your battery goes over it, then there is an extra screw on the end, you screw out and put your wire on that. so.. good times.

RE: RF 6x9s I think they sound great. I have these:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lEExXoPdGVB/c...vf=N&search=FRC

with 70 RMS watts going to them They sound awesome. As far as 4x6, honestly anythign around 100 bucks will sound good. U can get plates up front, or u can just get most of your Mids from the back...

Suprisingly i Have little rattles. I have one 12" RF DVC stage 3 sub. With 400 watts RMS to it.... Only where it say alero rattles. I bought the dynamat kit for the liscnec plate though.

I have always been a big Infinity fan. Have not bought any speakers for my car yet because I just got it a couple of weeks ago but I plan on putting in 6.5 Infinity Kappa components in the front and 6x9 Infinity Kappa 3-ways in the rear. You can get all of these off Ebay for about $235 before shipping. Are you planning on running whatever speakers you buy off of the headunit or with a seperate amp? I really do not recommend spending in excess of $300 on speakers if you are going to power them with the headunit. Will sound like poop and probably eventually blow a fine pair of speakers.

you cant blow underpowered speakers........the more money you spend on speakers more likely the sensitivity level is going to be higher meaning you can run less power and still get the same output so saying that you are wasting money is untrue..........i agree with you though i wouldnt spend that much money on speakers if i wasnt going to on an amplifier.......but you wont hurt anything running them off the deck.......
