2nd to 3rd shift taking abnormally long time

I'm not sure why, but when the car shifts from 2nd to 3rd, it seems that the RPMs climb much higher (above 2500, whereas normal shifts are 1900 - 2100), and the engine sounds like it's droning. It's an unpleasant noise and it just doesn't sound good for the car. 3rd to 4th shifts as expected, low, stock RPM shifts (1900 - 2100).

I've also noticed a "clunking" when going from park to reverse but it is sporadic; I'm not sure what to make of it. Trans problems?

56k miles, 2002 4 dr 3.4. Thoughts? Not sure if I should be worried or not.

The clunk sounds like a tranny mount is bad.

As for the shift delay, does it do this even after the car has been warmed up? After 15-20 mins or so of driving?

It's only sometimes and the clunk isn't too bad but it's good to hear a diagnostic on it. If the problem continues I'll look more into it.
