Leather Dash Repair

My dash has a pen-tip sized puncture in it. I was wondering if those kits like at Leatherworldtech really work.

If not this one, then one that would work well to patch the hole and looking for the most part seamless.

I'd hate for re-upholstering the dash to be my only option but I'll take whatever advice I get.

I hear that these things work well on vinal but not leather, but I pretty sure that the dash is vinal anyway
