been looking at these
Pioneer TS-A4672R 3-Way 4-Inch X 6-Inch 150-Watt Speaker
Pioneer TS-A6992R 5-Way 6-Inch X 9-Inch 460-Watt Speaker
these are for a total of 130 which i think is pretty decent for their performance. I had similar ones in my pickup and enjoyed them. I would be planning to am the rear ones. Im asking for your opinions, reviews and suggestions of the same budget range

Stick with 2 way speakers. I dont know exactly why, but Ryan has said 2 ways are best.

I had the Pioneer 3 ways in the first alero and 4 ways in the 2nd Alero..its been far too long to remember the model numbers; but I was happy with both. They are decent speakers for the money.

The simple fact is your head unit WILL NOT power any speakers properly.
Head Units lack power, "clean power" and head room needed to effectively drive speakers well.
I was a big fan of Infinity, but this 2 Ohm deal they got going on is a gimmick and a hazard. I wouldnt even bother with them!
You want a good two way design. Anything more is a simple waste of money. "Super tweeter" included in these fancy designs are a joke. Up to 32 kHz... Wow, impressive. To bad your deck will only go to 2kHz... lol Same with almost ALL audio components. 20 Hz- 20kHz is the range on 98% of ALL units.
Next up, why 6x9s?
That money could be reinvested into the front stage, which matters the MOST.

so ryan killed it.
i have the 4ways front and rear 6.5 in front with a custom baffle and dropped the 6x9s in the back. had i spent full price on them i wouldent have got them, got em all for $50 at a garage sale. proper imaging of the front stage is the best thing you can do for your listening experence, but for most ppl a simple upgrade to there stock speakers is good enough, agreed that a stock headunit will fall flat on the upper range of power but not everyone is bangen' there music either.
oh and i beleve that 20Hz-20kHz is the human hearing range correct?

Thats true. I had completely forgotten about the front stage thing. Just spend those 140 on good front speakers, and you dont really need the back ones. I know my fade or balance is set so that the front make almost all the noise, and it sounds pretty nice.

Problem with 97% of people making such a statement:
They have never heard a high quality setup before.
So sure, they might sound good to you and you might love them.
To me, they may sound harsh. Uneven, weak and meager. Lacking warmth, etc, etc.
Comparing to stock, well of course theres huge differences. Comparing a set of $50 coaxial to a set of $600 components... Of course the difference will be huge.
Its all on basis.
The 20Hz ~ 20kHz is the general human hearing range. Almost all units display this range.

so ryan lemme see through a pm what you would reccomend for my setup
i still want a decent set of 6x9s, same brand as the front to replace the stockers. maybe their not that important in cars but in my reg cab pickup they were the biggest difference. The reason I listed those 6x9s is they come as a discounted price if you purchase them with the 4x6s, saves 5-10 dollars
Im not looking to win competitions i just want better then walmart and bestbuy junkies(no offense)
EDIT. I listen to Rock, Rap, Rock/Rap

AleroRacing, you're better off to save up and buy some really good components rather than coaxial crap. See Ryan's comments above. I have the Alpine SPX 6.5's in the rear and SPR 6.5's in the front and that is a night and day difference compare to stuff like Sony, Pioneer, Jensens etc all the entry level stuff. If you look around you could probably get a good set of components for around $200.
