wire problems

OK so I recently recieved my intelliglow needles from import car parts plus. I hooked it up to my gauges. was completly done . Set my gauges on my table. Woke up in the middle of the night and went to the kitchen an found my cat eating the copper wires. He only left one needle working.

Has anyone ever broken or accidently disconnected the copper wires? If so has anyone reconnected the wires to make them work again?

sounds like your cat has a copper deficiency. i would think you could reconnect the wires, but i haven't done it with that specific application.

it's just single wires, splice 'em back together. no biggie.

well it's 2 copper wires to each light. i did the whole test each wire..to see what wires would even light up a needle and i got nothing. i went through so many different combinations for the wires. i figured it would be an easy splice..i was wrong.

step one: kill cat.

Now that the problem is solved... lets get down to how to fix this. Have any method to get pics of what your dealing with? Its pretty hard to troubleshoot/instruct how to fix the connections.. when i'm running blind.

Also, are you handy with a soldering gun? If not, your can still get the job done, but its not going to be as good of a connection.

the horn would have to be an aftermarket module of some kind acting up, prob some security thing. as for the lights, of course they don't work with the doors open cause u can't just run them in and be done. the courtesy lights are ground side switched, you have to run some fancy crap to get stuff to turn on with them right which is why i haven't took the time to do it myself. for the lights flickering, refer to what i just said. u probably messed something up running in directly to the courtesy lights.

a new question on the topic of lights and guages............I used to have no issues with the dash lights but now the back lighting for the guages don't wanna work. I still get all the dummy lights, its just those damn back lights. any sugestions?
I have another question but it really doesn't have anything to do with the lights, i think. I need to know if someone can upload a pic, or diagram, or knows where to find one, for the radio plug....I thought I was using a pro to install an aftermarket deck, but they fooked it up and fried the deck, but he unplugged all the wires the the little plastic thingy that keeps them all nice, and I think he put them back in the wrong order.
i know this is long sorry, just wanna try to get my alero running goodish again.

MP,
take a picture of the wiring the other guy fooked up and let us know exactly what he did. This is the best way for any of us to get an idea of how bad this really is. If you can take a pic, I can reference my setuip and guide you in the right direction.

OP, how much did the needles cost you? The only ones I've seen cost quite a bit, and it seems like a bit of drilling + 3mm LEDs would do just as good of a job for a fraction of the price.
