rear end update
well, i had a custom LED strip as my 3rd brake light, but somehow moisture got in or something, and it ended up rusting, and a few of the leds stopped working. replaced it with the led board from an impala, and i also decided to fill in the key hole for the trunk. just got a 5/8in nylon plug, painted it the color of the car and popped it in. i think it looks a little cleaner than the hole being there, and if i ever need to, i can just pop it out.

I love the plug idea, I think I'll do the same. What year Impala did you get the LED third brake light from?

00-05 i believe. and someone said that some have the led board, others have bulbs similar to our stock ones. im not sure how true that is, but i imagine if it is, only the board would work.

Can you show us a picture of JUST the plug, so i know what kind to get? There are all sorts of "plugs". I like the look on your car, and since I have remote trunk opening, i don't really need to use my key.
