So many odd issues

My car is a 2000 GL that I bought new. Other than 5 wheel bearings and 1 rear power window motor, I have never HAD to replace anything. My car never runs rough or anything. It still drives nearly like it was new other than the A/C compressor has a valve that is starting to stick which makes a loud ticking sound when running the air. And my car spent its first 9 years in Indiana with cold weather and road salt.

I just replaced my fuel pump and assembly this week solely because it seemed like time with 140k to replace it before it died...Plus it gave me something to do. Hopefully that will take care of the service engine light that has been off and on for the past 5 years with no driving difficulty. My code scanner said that the fuel tank vapor pressure sensor was showing bad, so here's hoping.

With how positive my Alero experience has been, I am always surprised to hear about all of these "common/known issues" that plague the rest of you.
Fortunately it seems that like me, many of you love your Oldsmobile regardless.

cheers!

I bought my 2000 GLS about 3 years ago with 124K miles, and until recently at 170K when one of the head gaskets went, I never had a single issue with the car, hell it was alot more reliable than my LT1 T/A was, man that was a pile of crap right there!

I keep replacing things as a hobby because I am slowly turning my car into a project car. I plan to replace it as my daily driver in the next couple of years and keep it as a toy. I have a laundry list of mods waiting for me to get more time and money. I'm focusing on refreshing a lot of the common mechanical things that wear out first before I begin the crazy fun stuff.
