What exactly are you saying when you say CIA? This is the second person to refer to a Cold Air Intake, or CAI as a CIA, or Central Intelligence Agency. I mean "Cold Intake Air" doesn't really describe the object you purchased, it rather describes the air itself. Cold air intake on the other hand, describes the "intake" as a physical object, the tubes and filter that lead up to the throttle body.

Just curious where the whole CIA comes from, as 2 newbies already call it as such.

As for your problem. You're driving it differently, your IAT sensor is not plugged in (unlikely, usually causes the shift to be super-firm), or you didn't seal clamp the piping and couplers together properly on the MAF sensor area and are getting incorrect MAF sensor measurements which is throwing things off.

Ditto. The CIA may be tracking you and purposely making your shift slower to keep a better read on your whereabouts. I do believe ebay is a primary source of equipment sabotage for them.

sorry typeo cai. no i dont not work for the CIA but yeah they probley are watching my every move for some reason. im almost positive all clamps are nice and tight. when i get hard on the gas it feels like it boggs down before the 1st shift. do i need to do somthing with the computer? its really annoying. i was hoping for a gain in power not a loss

You have the gold series or something like that... mines gold to its like the higher end model basically... and check all your sensors.. the plug to the maf. The iat on the side. Make sure its in all the way, sealed, and plugged in. And anything else you unplugged when doing it.

When was the last time you had a tune up? Filter changes and such-especially fuel?

^^ idk if it would be that if the car did fine with stock airbox then when he switched to a cai it had problems. But it could be that too.

Maybe this is not the case, but a bog suggests a blockage or deficiency of some resource. With increased airflow, the computer will probably adjust with increasing the fuel a bit too. If you have a fuel filter that could handle the stock but is too blocked for a CAI who knows. Just a thought. Most likely is it something simple unplugged somewhere though. If an air sensor was faulty he would be surging and having erratic idle. He is having bogged acceleration so I think electrical or fuel related.
