by auxillary is the plug rca shaped or it looks like a lil headphone jack? im guessing headphone jack, and i didnt think the dvd players output for sound would be like that, i would think it would be rca's........try getting a wireless device that will play the sound through an un-used fm station......i cant find any pics of the back of your deck so its making it hard to figure out what u can do.....but if thats what ur aux in is a y isnt ur best bet.....

Does it sound normal on both without the Y-connector? Try gold plated maybe.

yea try gold plated because thats cheaper than what i suggest.......if that dont work try it with just one thing plugged in, then the other, if they sound fine seperate but when you run the y and have them both hooked up it sounds like crap id recomend an audio/video switcher, ive seem them not too bad on ebay......i dunno if the two are interfering with each other when one wants to play......

XM direct unit from Best Buy...the tuner box is $49.99 and the Sony adapter is $49.99...that'll keep your aux. input free while still allowing u to have XM radio

you'll lose sound quality w/ any splitter or splitter box...
