yeah i just got 2 sets of speakers for my old saturn (6.5 audiobahn component set and 6.5 audiobahn 3-ways). however, 2 weeks later i got an alero and these speakers aren't the right size at all. will the 6.5's fit up front or am i gonna have to fiberglass my self some kick panels. thanks a lot
i'd check it out myself but my dad's still using the car for now and i was just wondering if any one knew?

you will have to do a fiberglass panel. 6.5 won't fit in the factory location.

i HEARD they fit, do a search. then get, or make, some adapter plates for the 6.5 3 ways in the back
do you have the monsoon system? it is a biampable 2/6 ohm system, so you cant directly replace the speakers if you do, pull back the carpet in the trunk on the left behind the tire well, there's a monsoon amp there if you have the "monsoon" system.
btw, i was able to cram a 1" soundstream tweeter in the factory 1/2" location, looks 100% stock, someone before said that aftermarket tweeters dont fit....just gotta cut off the plastic pegs in the housing.

there are adapter plates for the front and the rears, you can use all 4 6.5's if you want, and mike is right about the tweeters... i also have 1" tweeters up front.

alright well my question is... how are you supposed to fit 6.5's into a hole 4 inches across... do you have to cut or what, i haven't looked at the inside yet. like i said my dad still has it til we get the new car in a few days

they're bigger than 4" across, im trying to remember, but i think the stock 4x6 sits in a plate...i know when i made a sheetmetal plate for my 4" components, i had plenty of room the 4" way, im 100% sure a 5.25 would have worked just fine. plus, if the speaker is 6.5", the actual cutout is like 5.5-5.75.
this topic has been beaten to death so many times

No need to be sorry. Sometimes the questions you find in the search results aren't exactly what you want to know. Then you do what I do and bug the piss outta people until you get an answer.
