so, i got my exhaust put on yesterday, i did alot of searching on here and j-body and finally decided to go with the dynomax super-turbo camaro muffler, a magnaflow hi-flow cat, and 2.25 inch piping...........now when i go to pick up my car yesterday, the first thing the guy says to me is "man, it sounds mean for a 4 cylinder" and then "just make sure you dont punch it by any cop's because they'll pull you over" i figure, hell it cant be that bad, so i get in, start her up, and man, this bad boy is MUCH louder than the normal exhaust, i dont really have all that big of a problem with it and i'll be able to stand it, although i am thinking about putting on a big resonator if i get the time..........but my main question is, did anyone else who got this exhaust or anything close, have this loud of a car?

Loud Pipes Save Lifes
Works for the Harley crowd why not us. as long as your pipes are quieter than a harley it should be 100% legal.

don't worry about it. i had my exhaust done about a year ago and never had problems with the cops "knock on wood". but just as long as it isn't louder then people with cat back exhaust you shouldn't have any problems.

I've been pulled over in Manitoba because I was a "little loud" off the lights... but no ticket. Loud's nice... but don't want to go too crazy eh? Just keeping other driver's and neighbors in consideration.

So ur saying that muffler is REALLY loud eh.
well thats the one i wanna put on but likely if i did it would just be cut out factory mufflet put that one in it's place.
So hopefully it won't be quite as loud as urs cause I don't need any more tickets.

My dynomax mufflers weren't very loud on my Mustang. That is interesting that it is loud on your car. It's probably the cat making it louder, I've heard of that before. My Dodge neon was way louder with the Magnaflow cat. I added one later after I already had a Magnaflow muffler on there. I need a resonator bad!

listening to it now i guess it's not terrible, just quite the deep growl at around 3-4k RPM's ......one thing i have noticed is that when you have the A/C running it's definately louder, when it's off it's much more quiet.....if you're worried about it gxryan then i'd got with about a 26 inch glass pack after the converter, they only cost 20 bucks from Jeg's, and that's name-brand
