Intake Problems! I need some help...
I just put in my intake system and I really don't think it's in right, the only problem is that's the only way it will go, and I'm not really sure if it's right... So I need some help...
as you can see, it's touching the bumper... and it is also hitting the wheel guard thing too...

mine does the same thing, either you cut the tubing to fit or deal with it. I left it, it wasnt a big problem. You should find a piece to replace that acordian tube between the maf and tb, cai wont do much good with that restriction in there.

mine also did the same...watch for tire rubbing against plastic.
I would like some opinions on the acordian shape disrupting the CAI purpose. Is this really true?

the accordian piece defeats the purpose of a cai because alot of the power gains in a cai come from smooth curves in the pipe rather than those indents. Think of an exhaust, whay is mandrel bent better than crush bent? no ribs, hence better flow.

The intake is too long becasue of the accordin piece.
Take it out and put a coupler in place of it and you'll be set

^^ Yeah, that does look kinda important... I like it the way it is right now.. It will do fine for now... I got the kit from ebay... it was like $25 ish for the kit and like $20 shipping which was kinda odd, but it wasn't too bad... Sounds great!!!!

Ok I'm a little confused! The black accordin piece is not needed so I'll need a coupler (b/c i have the same thing on my 3400). But is that black plug that attaches to the accordin piece thing needed? Can anyone post a link from ebay or something of the thing that is exactly needed. Sorry to post this on ur thread but i thought it was pointless to make a new one.

what you will need to do is cut out 2 holes to fit the IAT sensor, and the black tube you are reffering to. word to the wise...cut smaller to make sure it has a proper seal

imo the black tube isnt that important, its just a breather line from the head, it doesnt really matter if it routes the excess air back into the intake or into the engine bay.

seriously.... I have a job you know... I don't have a lot of time to really do a whole lot... that's why I'm leaving it the way it is for now... and I really don't have the money just now to get that part replaced.... so calm down already...
And note, this was my first time doing this and I was by myself... I admit it though, I do need to clean out the engine... lol

for the breather tube mentioned above, if its vented into the engine bay, should there be some kind of filter for it?
