I recently purchased the DHP PCM from PFYC and just installed, now all I did was pull out the old computer slide in the new one and hook back up all the harnesses. I am going in to have the Crank Positioning scan tomorrow but I was wondering why my new settings aren't already taking place? In other words I took it up to 107 with the new DHP and it governed out? Am I missing something?

Thanks in Advance!
Jordan

PFYC may require DHP to keep the limiter for legal purposes. you might want to ask PFYC about it?

why would they state "removes top speed limiter" on the page then?

Open a trouble ticket on DHP's site....they will take care of it.

the thing with the alero DHP PCM is you prolly got a beta version. meaning it isnt exactly fined tuned. you prolly should have gone thru DHP for the PCM and told them exactly what mods you have and what you want from their product. sounds like you will have to send the PCM back and have it reflashed.

Don't you have to do a sequence of things to reset the car or something? I remember some ppl having trouble before they did a relearn or something like that.

A security re-learn procedure is normally required for the car to start with the new PCM, but a maladjusted speed limiter would have nothing to do with that. There are a few places in the PCM where you need to adjust the top speed threshold, and i's possible one was missed, since all of the Alero cals are still being done by hand, one at a time. As I said, open up a trouble ticket on DHP's site and they'll get you taken care of.

I am getting a new one sent out, they obviously didn't do their programming right or something. But thanks for the help! And Alerored 04 (Matt) I will have to run you some time.
