transmission jerks

i posted a similar question a while back like this. when my car is at normal operating tempature, my car will shift into 2nd and 3rd very hard. if a drive like a grandma and accelerate very slow, it wont do it, but once i accelerate a little faste, it will start to jerk. car has 75,000 miles, tranny was flushed 4,000 ago because thats what most people said it might be. 500 miles ago i added seafoam transmission tune, and that did nothing. wth could it be? also forgot to add, the engine makes an odd noise at idle in drive at a stop light, but when put in park, it sounds normal.

That's exactly what mine does. Has the power as long as you slowly depress the gas, but hit it and it feels like it's struggling for those horses. I was just gonna change out my trans fluid tomorrow. Hope that does something

Wooooow. That's alittle more than i'm looking to do, but I have no other problems with operation other than when I mash the gas. Does this sound like imminent tranny failure?

no, not necessarily.
my car had 1/3 more miles than you when the thing went. my engine was quick to follow suit. lol
take it to a specialist. get their opinion, and then come back to us.

Here are the most common problems with the 4T65-E transmission that will cause a harsh shift upon heavy acceleration:
• All years--Pressure Reg. Valve (Bore 1) or Torque Signal Valve (Bore 4) stuck.

• On 2001-2002 vehicles, a plugged orifice on the case side of the spacer plate.

• ON 2003-2004 vehicles, restricted movement of the 2-3 shift valves in the valve body.

• On 2003-2004 vehicles, restricted movement of the 3-4 shift valves in the valve body.

Well, I fall in the "all years" catergory. So, is this home mechanic repairable?

Any SES lights? I solved a similair problem on a grand am, turns out to be the TPS faulty. Does it lag when you stomp on the gas? Feel like a misfire? if so then it may need a tune-up.

spark plugs were changed 1,000 miles ago, and fuel filter changed 5,000 ago. i guess im going to have to take it to a transmission shop, and hope to get an honest answer, instead of them just telling me i need a new tranny without looking at it. i asked the women that owned the car before me, and she said it has been doing it since about 15,000 miles. why she never took it to the dealer under warrenty, i have no idea. also, a friend said getting my pcm tuned could maybe fix it. is there even a slight chance that would work?
