Is there a disadvantage to have inlet and outlet on the same side like the first one? i noticed they only have one which is styled like that. and other brands dont even have that kind of design. seems like it wouldnt flow well.

there shouldnt be any problems with the inlet and outlet like that........if there is any restrictions of air flow, it will be very very minor!! as long as you have the rest of your cat back the same size as your inlet, you will be fine

Honestly, neither of those will flow as well as a straight muffler. In both mufflers, the exhaust has to make a tight turn before it exits. Will you feel a difference in power over the straight muffler? No. With minimal mods like the exhaust you're planning and maybe an intake, it's not that big of a deal. When you start getting into cams, ported heads, and bigger power numbers, then you may feel a small difference.

As for those two, which one you pick depends if you want single or dual tips. Like Satsuriku said, just make sure the pipe diameter for the whole exhaust is the same size as the muffler inlet.

But you also have to consider that in that Magnaflow muffler, the exhaust gas does have to make a 180° turn. However in many other performance mufflers they have to do much more than that. Turbo style mufflers are usually two 180° turns. Chambered mufflers essentially have a few walls that the exhaust gas goes into.

Oh, and it should be noted that Magnaflow uses the 14210 muffler in their exhaust kits for all off the Corvettes 1997 to current.

That's true. Even with the sharp turn the Magnaflow will still outflow any chambered or other style mufflers out there. Like I mentioned, when using the muffler that pulls a 180° compared to the straight muffler, you won't feel any difference. I'm just one that likes everything to be as efficient as possible, which includes eliminating every little restriction in the exhaust. One little thing here and there won't make a huge deal, but all the little things add up
