lol, all you have to do is pull off the cover to your fuse box (driver side), on the side of the dash, and push the reset button once, then push it one more time, then hold it down till the change oil light goes off. then your set....

yeah i just unpluged the battrey for like well almost the whole day and it worked. just replaced that and the driver brake caliper which was not so much fun but all good.. anyone in the detroit area the parts galore at 5970 west warren detroit, MI has 4 or 5 aleros 2 that were fliped and i think 2 were torched still some good parts on them and the last was back end smashed in.. feel free to go check for parts . i prolly wont be going back for a few weeks. at least not for the alero yet

They will go off on their own. once the car sees so many cycles of the car running properly, it will turn off the light. If it comes back on with the same code, you may wanna check the other O2 sensor..esp if you trusted autozone to check the code for you.

you say svs light (service vehicle soon). do you mean ses (service engine soon)? the o2 sensor would turn on the ses light and is the only one that we can check and turn off at autozone. if it is the svs light, it's something else on the car, not related to the engine....most often it's a wheel speed sensor, but that would turn on other lights too (trac cont off, and abs)

Well the one we took my buddy's accord to sure as hell didn't know what was going on. It said bank 1 sensor 2 and they sold him an upstream...we went through the hassle of changing it, light stayed on. So we took it back, they checked again, same code, new sensor...same light. So they recommended he go to this honda shop down the street. He paid 85 for a diag to get the same code and for the guy to say that it was the downstream. So we bought one of those, changed it, light went off. Changed back the upstream to the original...still no light.
When i told the guy that it seemed to me that the code is calling for the downstream and not the upstream, 1 guy told us there was only 1 O2 sensor and the other guy said that he's trained on his machine and he knows how to read it and doesn't need my help.
So, you...maybe not...the guys we talked to...incompetant as hell. There's only been 1 guy that i've talked to that actually knew his shit and he worked at advanced and since those few times I've talked to him, he's moved on.

i guess that's something you'll have at every parts chain...some good stores, some bad. at mine, having past experience around cars is usually a prerequisite to be hired, but even that can fail sometimes...the newest guy at my store was working at o-reilly, so you'd think he has some kind of clue about the biz, but he's fairly clueless. problem is, you can't fire someone just for being dumb
