Talking LED afterglow in headlights

just wondering if i were it install like 30 leds all around my headlights (to shine into the casing) this would be my little showpiece for when im doing shows with my new Oznium inferno undercar kit (http://www.oznium.com/inferno) just wondering if the leds will melt from the hid kit or if itll be ok

thanks nate

i searched first!

Update- how hard to drill through headlight casing without breaking or cracking the case?

depends on what color you are doing.... You can't have red or blue as they can be mistaken for emergency lights and you can get busted for that. (I almost did and cop made me take my lights off)....

I believe in most states underglow lights are illegal anyway, so as long as it's all being used off public-roads he could pick any color available..

I've also been told that "public" is being redefined in the transportation code as to any road made publicly available (At least in texas that is) so that includes private property without proper signage.

I doubt that your leds would melt in answer to your question, but possibly the glue/adhesive you are using.

If you do put red or whatever color, I suggest wiring them to a switch. I personally like having blue lights outside my car cause it looks neat at night. I don't have any right now, but I use to have blue LEDs in my fogs. Just wire them to a switch that way you can turn them on and off in certain areas.

Unless you are buying LEDs rated at 12-14 volts then you'll need to lower the voltage to a nominal level say 3 or 4.5 volts max. Check the forward voltage rating and don't exceed that. If they are meant for 12 volts, a current limiting resistor is always handy (I think 470 ohm is defacto for current limiting).

nope. they just adjust brightness accordingly. set them up for 12v, and you'll be fine.
