The car didn't even have a top in the rear from what I heard.

That's right.

The car didn't have a top. I have a pic of it somewhere. It was made as a concept but never produced. It had an actual VIN, but unknown if it was road worthy due to a weakened body due to no roof, which unibody cars rely on

..or... it'll fall apart. there would be nothing to hold up the metal on the sides of the car. all the support would be gone.

hahah. being a unibody car, its really hard to. you cut the top off and the rest of the body looses alot of support/rigidity. You have to reinforce frame on the sides if you want to even think about doing that.

its been talked about alot, and no-one has ever duplicated it. closes we have is i think richie (aftermath alero) with an aftermarket ragtop sunroof.

^your car might fold like a piece of paper, you may want to do some research first.

or you could, build a subframe and hide it with some side skirts. That way the car can support its self still and you wont have to worry about it folding like a paper crane.

have you checked out some of the hard-top verts? without the seams in the roof, they would look like normal cars.
