car shaking
I have searched a lot on here about cars shaking but mostly everything that was said i have already checked. when i am on the highway my car starts shaking at high speeds. i put new rotors on my car so i know they aren't warped. i got 2 new front tires a couple months ago. changed both my front hubs like 4 months ago with cheap ones off ebay and just changed one this week that went bad already with a timken one. when i jacked up my car i could wiggle my passenger tire like it was loose which i found out was my tie rod end and i changed that. but after all this my car still shakes on the highway. What else could be making this happen? i am getting real aggravated with it and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just because your tires have been recently installed doesn't mean they couldn't be severly unbalanced. I'd get all 4 rebalanced first, at a reputable place. And go from there.

It really varies from shop to shop, every chain has good locations and bad ones.
Alot of places will continue to use faulty equipment because they don't want to spend the money to replace it.
If that was in fact the problem, chances are you won't get bad service twice in a row. Goto a different shop and see what happens.

Is it a shake in the wheel? A vibration in the seat of your pants? Feel like the car just wants to skate away from you?

balance it. and make sure they do it right. tie rod end would have just made it wander like crazy not shake so that wasn't even the problem to begin with.

A bent rim will also do that..so have them check your rims as well

How many miles are on the car?
Are the new tires or rims made in China?

i dont think it is the rims because i had steel wheels with the hub caps b4 and it did this and then i got the alloy wheels put on and it still did the same thing.

I have 91000 on the car and i have no clue if they are made in china.
It has done this ever since i got the car and i know it was in an accident b4 in the front end but i was told it was all fixed and inspected and it has a salvage title. dunno if something could be messed up from that.

Mine shakes at 80 to 85 (speed limit in AZ is 75) I have always have that vibration even with stock tires and rims...feels like an out of balanced tire but I have had them checked and still dont know what it is. Its worse with low pro tires and rims. I would love to know what it is.

Have you had the car realigned? I also have this shake and when I got new tires mounted and balanced they said that one of my rims was bent, and they moved it to the back and it lessened but is still there. I myself need new tie rods as well. Hope you figure this out so that I can get it fixed as well. I only get my shake between 40-45mph, and then it lessens the faster I go. New rotors on the front, and haven't replaced the rears yet....could be there.

Strut brace
I had a pretty good shake when I first got my car. After I transferred my strut tower brace from my Malibu to the Alero, the shaking stopped. I get a little bit of a vibration at about 80, then it goes away at like 85 and I'm golden all the way to about 115 or so. I've only been that fast in this thing twice, there's a good hill on a highway where I live, a lot of people go there to race.

115 isnt possible on the stock PCM lol..
and I've been to 137 miles per hour in my car out of shear retardation.. if you have a stock alero with the governers removed.. -do not- go above 100 MPH.. there is absolutely no reason to do it.. my car felt so loose at that speed I had no choice but to let off the gas.. the risks you take at hitting those kinds of speeds on any kind of public road is just dumb.
go try to hit 100 MPH in the quarter mile.. then you'll be praised lol
