my subs

there not the best subs but they are good for what i paid for them. they are 12" mtx thunder 4000's and are powered by a lighting audio amp, they hit pretty hard, hell of a lot better than the one's i had in my old car. i only paid $40 for them off someone at school, the box needs recarpeted but i don't care.

50 extra watts arent going to kill them? why am I an idiot. plus the amp I want to get probably wont even put out the full amount of power anyway. Overrated haha.

Ryan from Ohio will become famous soon enough
Some people just dont understand how power amplifiers work.

Some subs are rated conservative, others so close to the point of melt down its scary...

With the CVR's you should be safe to pump some extra power into them. The longer you play them the hotter they get.The hotter the sub gets, the less power it will hold.

But on the flip side, even at 400 WRMS. You could probably feed it 300 WRMS and it would sound so close you wouldnt be able to hear a difference.

I wouldn't put more than rms power on those CVRs daily.

Also keep in mind that the hotter the sub gets, the more resistance the coils will have, which overall, will amount to alot less power.
