Rad hose rubbing on A/C pulley??

I got home today, and found out my passenger side rad hose (the one on the left as you look at the engine) had a hole (holes?) in it, and it appeared to be rubbing against the A/C pulley. I guess I should say io have the 3400 engine. Now, I've had this car 2 1/2 years, and this just shows up now?? Why would the hose all of a sudden get that close to the A/C pulley? If I replace it, how do I stop it from happening again??

On the bright side, I suppose I found out why my coolant was going low at a small rate, and I knew it wasn't due to a head gasket.

Cable tie it out of the way. Hose might've been loose or something.

Rubber hoses expand and deteriorate over time. This is telling you that its time for that hose to be replaced. Trim a new one to size, and replace the old one.
