Reupholstering Dash Panel ?

Has anyone tried to reupholster their dash panel? If so how? Torn between trying to get lucky on a good one at a junkyard and doing it myself....opinions please...thanks!!

I will be doing mine soon out of genuine leather because the current dash is peeling. If you don't do it by then than i'll let you know. Its on my to do list

Mine is peeling too. not to sure how to tackel it

I was going to buy a dash cover, but it's too 70's

update- going to take preliminary looks at what it will take to redo in a new color scheme to match my car (going to be tough to choose a good scheme for a silver car though) making trips this week to different shops around town that sell the fabric
