well, first thing, open your hood....sorry for being a smart ass, once in a while the belts get dry and then squeek....put some water over the belt as it turns....usually it helps but it could be something else...try that and if that doesnt work bring it in and let a tech check it out.

an old trick for sqeaky belt is to take a bar of soap and rub it on the grooved side of the belt as the car is running. This is easy to do on the older cars.

There is belt dressing spray out there that is safer. I would try that.

Also check the play in your belt. It should be fairly tight. If it feels loose, then your tensioner may be at the limit. That would mean you need a new belt, because it is stretched beyond the capabilities of the tensioner.

Glad to hear it. That's the easiest thing to do with belts. Don't bunny with them, just get a new one.

belt dressing is a bad thing for serpentine belts. It could cause it to throw off a smooth pully or tensioner. I would just replace the belt.
(It could also be a pully or accessory squeaking)

Ah darn...something in my belt/pulley region is squeaking/chirping too. Not a squeal a loose or slipping belt would make. Just squeaks consistently like rotating and hitting the same "squeaky spot," not obnoxious, but noticeable.

Other tips or things to check into?
