4x6 to 5.25 adapter plates

is there anyone on this forum that makes the adapter plates. i dont think i have the tools needed to make one.

i went to pepboys/autozone/bestbuy and they all said they no longer sell adapters. On top of that bestbuy said to install the 2 5.25s they'd charge me $100 and theyd have to chop up my door to get it to fit ...

trying to install kenwood 5.25s .. if not then pepboys said they'd exchange my 5.25s for a 4x6 pioneer when they get them back in stock

do you have anything that can cut plastic? if so order some 2inch thick plates then shave them so that one side is really thin and the other is still 2inches thick. then line them up where the thick part is as far down as it can to still get the door panel on, adjust it so that all the screws will be secure, drill the holes, and screw it in place.
this is the only pic of it I can find. I had to the same thing in my alero. although cut the one side down more then you see in the picture. When I took the speakers out a few months later they were rubbing on the door panel ever so slightly still. theres also a fair amount of plastic on the panel its self you can trim to make clearance.

buy a dremel

You have to learn early that Alero's are rarely modified so the aftermarket parts for this car are even more rare. Therefore, you must learn to use your imagination and be creative. Also, you will learn to customize things on your own. Nothing is easy with this car, just to let you know. The only really bolt on piece that I had for this car was the intake and the leds in my gauge cluster. But my alero was my first car and it was basically my guinea pig.

P.S. Dont ever think about painting your interior. EVER!

Happy Modding!

I had to trim the inner door panel a pinch. part of the reason mine fit so well is because they are the new alpine type R style with the small magnet. awesome speakers.
