Aftermarket Stereo and harness thoughts
Some of the Stereo threads are a bit dated, and i was curious if there was any new info out there. I am planning on putting a new HU and speakers in my Alero. I am leaning towards the Infinity Reference for speakers, the only real hangups i have are the HU and the rest of the wiring.
These items are even cheaper on ebay, but for reference sake. Will these work?

Also, i have looked at some touch screens, which i know i would need different mounting stuff for.... Any new suggested touch screen units? what size screen? i see some people have gone 7 inch, but that seems big... and i dunno how i feel about dremeling....

Dremeling won't take you long, and its pretty easy to do. I would say infinity speakers, my moms car has em stock and man they pound haha.

I have infinity reference series in my alero and it is crystal clear... i love them... they are also hooked up to amps not just off the deck so it improves their sound as well... for the head unit and wiring just get a bracket harness and antena adapter and take your time... easy as pie

If your cars a 2003 your going to need the metra 70-2003 harness which requires use to run a new power wire to a switched accesory lead, to make it easy just use an add a circut on an unused line like the sunroof circuit.
or you could save time, but spend more on this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...R-GM09SRB.html, which keeps your vehicles chime system in tact
I have the scosshe, but personally if i had to do it again id buy the cheaper harness
In 2002 Gm changed the class 2 data system which changed the radio harness
