Battery Trouble

hey guys, i have a kicker kx600.1, kx350.4, and a 12" L7....
but i went to the local dealership cuz the traction was f***ing up, got that fixed though...
and they said that the battery on my car was bad...
but it was a brand new battery...
so i headed to the place where i got the battery and they said that it was good and that my system might be just drawing to much of the juice....
so im really not sure how to handle this...
do i just get a new battery...
or will i have to get a new alternator???
any suggestions????

Load test your battery when the car is not running and if you battery checks out and alternator is fine then crank system up when it is dark and see if lights dim a lot when car is idling if it does dim pretty bad you might want to consider a power cap if it barely dims don't worry about. Hopefully this helps!

Figure out the power consumption of your system at clipping, and then see if that amp draw is more then your alternators rated HOT output, if its more then get annother battery and bigger alt.

I just went through a similar ordeal. the alternator should be fine. like the others said you just need a new battery with higher Cold Cranking Amps. (CCA) this should fix your power problem. :thumbsup:

One more suggestion. If your car has been in the shop or the battery has been replaced then check your connections. A poor ground from the altenator or battery will result in lower consumption. It would be wise to check the altenator ground as well. This is just a wire bolted straight onto the side. My accord had a loose grounding wire that caused intermittent problems. Oddly enough it took me looking into it. Two shops changed out my battery and were looking into my computer.
