Tweeters In General

Who has replaced the tweeters in the top door pilar? I'm loking for something that will be a direct replacement so i wont have to mess around with "making" things fit. I'm also looking into something that will be a direct fit for the bottom door speaker. Because i know that if i go and put in a tweeter with a higher RMS then im going to have to play the stereo overall louder to get the performance out of the tweeter. If anyone could lend some help with brands/models/prices ect. Thanks

Don't have a brand for you, but I've heard one should look for dome tweeters, not cone.

i have a brand new pair of polk audio 3/4" dome tweeters that will fit. i'll sell them to you if your interested. just send me a pm and i'll give you the specs and some pics.

just about any tweeters will fit

i like 1" silk dome tweeters in general....hate the sound of 1/2" especailly aluminum or mylar

so far i was able to fit 2 types of 1" tweeters, right now i have phoenix golds in there. i just broke the facory mount pegs (you'll know what i mean when you pull it off) and then put some clear silicone all the way around the edge and in there, let that dry for a little while....fits perfect. takes about 2 minutes a tweeter...plus waiting for the silicone to dry

6's are a BITCH to fit up front. get a set of 5" components, they should fit right in the factory 4x6 opening with little to no modification. you'll just need a mounting plate for them.
