I'm beyond pissed at my Alero right now. I was pulling out of the driveway and I heard a big bang/crack like I went over a big rock. It happens, it's a gravel driveway. I kinda pulled over and looked to see if I did run over something, but I didn't. Luckily I was only headed over to Overdriver75/Patrick's house, which is like 4 houses away. I could tell there was something very wrong with the suspension in the driver's front. So I got there and told him about the big noise and the noise on the way there, and of course he blew me off, but said fine, drive it back and forth in the driveway and I'll see if I hear it. Didn't take him long to notice the car looked funny. Sure enough, spring is broken.
Guess I get those new struts now. As long as we have to take one corner apart, might as well do them all, the car has 90,000 miles on it. I have to decide if I want to lower it or just replace it with a stock spring. His dad has them in stock for about $70. I posted in the bazaar, maybe someone has one laying around they don't need any more.
And of course I'm unemployed. If I get that job at Daimler I'm buying a f***ing Neon.

That sucks about the spring, but that would be a bigger mistake

Yeah, well, the way I feel right now it looks pretty good. But in reality I'd never buy a Neon.

I was picking him up, we were going to go to the grocery store. He didn't want to take the truck, and he can't take his company car unless he covers it in the lot, and that's a PITA.
I usually walk. :P

It's rubbing. I drove veryvery slowly back in the garage. It'll stay there 'till I decide what to do and it gets towed to the shop.

Damn, that sucks. At least it didn't happen on your way to an important meeting or interview or something, though. That would've sucked an endless one.

Yeah it definately could have been worse. Now I'm pimpin' the big Buick, Pat's '92 LeSabre. I hate that damn car but now I'm glad he has it.
I just can't decide if I want to lower it or not... I think I can handle the bad roads, it's winter I'm worried about.

i honestly think your best bet would be the eibachs, not too rough, and not too low, perfect for someone who cant really lower the car, because it basically puts the car to a normal amount of wheel gap. the stock wheel gap is insanity, i've never seen that on any other car.

It would have been faster than 70 if it was on the highway, so I'm am happy about that.
I was thinking Intraxx because I don't like a rough ride (insert sexual jokes, haha). But I don't want it that low. And Pat's not helping: "I'm not replacing the air dam every time you hit a chunk of snow!"

Is that a palm tree with snow on it? I can't see it too well to see if it is. I didn't know it snowed in Texas! lol My husband is from McAllen, and he was glad to move to Ohio to get away from the heat.
Back to the topic, I do think intrax would look great as far as how low it gets. I would be a little worried about snow, though. It gets pretty thick here in Ohio, too.

Ok, let me rephrase that. No snowfall events big enough to leave enough snow on the road to rip your car apart in Texas. The Alero has already had some bad experiences at stock height in Michigan.
