Well, I decided that I really can't afford to put any money in the Alero right now, and lowering it isn't the best idea anyway. When I get a new car it's going to replace the Buick and sit in the parking lot at GM and the airport. And I've had enough bad experiences in winter with 5 inches of clearance (most notable the snowbank that did who knows how much front end damage) and I like to be able to get around.

Pat's brother is convinced that it's a problem with N-bodies. He knows 6 people who have broken that spring. Who knows. My Alero spent 3 of its winters in the UP where they use dirt, not salt on the roads.

That was just my guess, I was thinking if anyone here would have broken a stock spring, it would have been me. Nah, I just snapped spindles and control arms in half.
