As soon as I left off the brake while revving at the correct RPM the car hooked and took off, and I put the pedal to the floor after it hooked. Milliseconds afterward, but enough to make sure traction was had before gunning it. That's all I'm saying.

If you rev at the correct RPM and then hit it when the brakes come off, that is correct. It sounded to me like he told you to launch at idle and ease into it.

Thanx Daytona.

So the stall speed on the 3400 is about 1200 rpm?

My tries are about 1 year old. The brand & model is Kumho Powermax.

I have no idea how good/bad this brand is.

if u know, tell me

On the 3400 I believe the stock stall speed is actually around 1600 rpm. I wouldn't launch the car harder than 1200 rpm until you get a better feel of the car at launch.

As far as your tires are concerned, those, I believe, are supposed to be pretty good for regular street radials.

lunch speed is under 10 MPH, anything faster is unsafe, you shouldn't eat the Big Mac while driving anyway

everyone's asking the launch revs but i've said it in this VERY thread like 3 times already:

Neutral drops don't work on Alero's anyway. The PCM cuts the engine's output (shuts off the fuel) before it allows the trans to go into gear. I've tried it. Yeah, I know...shame on me

Good thing for torque management in that case!
