Stock Tint?
I was wondering if anyone knew if any of the aleros had any stock tint. I don't figure it's much, but my 2004 looked like the windows were VERY slightly tinted before I had mine done. I have 20% all around now, but think I might make my front 2 legal. The law now is 28%, so I needa know so I can do some figuring..

As far as I know my 2001 gls gold package came with windows that had some kind of tint built into them. Not actually a tint film but something with the glass.

depends on state. NY, you can only have 5% on the front windows, and thats what mine have (now) it sucks.. they look soo much better slightly darker.
i got busted for having them "illegally tinted" but you could still see through them at night.

in MI you can only have a 4" strip of tint at the top of the front windows. ultra gay. rear windows you can do whatever you want, but the front you can only have a "strip" which would look SOOO retarded, which is why everyone just illegally tints it all.

If I am not mistaken, almost all (but not all) GM cars for the last 20 years have lightly tinted glass. Look on the side windows and you should be able to read "Solar-Ray" near the bottom rear of the glass. This light tint is in the glass and not on the glass.
(This in glass tint has been available on GM cars for over 30 years but was optional in the earlier years that it was available.)

hey i think ur wrong because 5% is super limo black.
i used to have 5% on all my windows and on the windshield i had 25% but the police stop and told me that tinting the the front windows is illegal and made me removed them and the M F gave me a tiket

I went to a tinted window store and he told me that the stock tint on my windows was around 7% (well blocking 7% of the light). You have to keep that in mind when tinting your windows because if you get arrested and that the officer test your window (they do over here), you can get screwed if you took a 30% film for your windows because it will add to the stock tint.

Yeah, that's more of what I was lookin for, so I could find out what to use to get as close to 28% with them figured together.
