Replacing speakers with monsoon.
I want to replace all my speakers or at least my front stage. I have the 6 speaker. 2 doors. 2 tweets. 2 6x9's monsoon system. I was wondering
1) How do you replace the front speakers. (I already know how to do the rears)
2) How can I hook them up to the monsoon system if it's even possible.
Thanks,
Itsbmw.
EDIT: Do I really need to upgrade my 6x9s? because I have my subs already and dont want to spend the money if I dont need them.

Monsoon is a joke. You want to upgrade?
Put in some 5.25" speakers andtweets in the sails. Hook up to replacement deck OR to an amplifier (best). Dont try to use the monsoon crap.

I wouldn't worry about the 6x9"s ... As Ryan stated... 5 1/4" Components up front off an amp.

Monsoon doesn't even begin to compare to a halfway decent componet set.
Go with what Ryan said. 5.25" up front and amp them for best results.

Te monsoon system is great for me...maybe its because we listen to different type of music.I listen to more r&b and rap.

you only say that because you haven't heard the difference of a good speaker setup, compared to the monsoon system.
makes it sound like an orchestra of flatulence.

i just did this with a 10" in the back, 4x6 in the doors and 1" tweeters in the sails... synopsis: pain in the ass! to get 1" tweeters to look decent in the sails I had to put the mounting cup in then cover the whole thing with bondo, sand for hours and paint. the 4x6s are a little quiet and yes 5.25"s would sound great but it is a tight fit which requires an adapter, so be warned about that. also to run new wires to the doors is a treat, tight space with sharp metal. if your going to do anything in the back either stick with 6x9s that will fit the factory harness or do subs. modding the rear deck area sucks because the lip in the sheet metal and the trunk cross bars.

LOL bust me up to hear all u bag on the Monsoons. Ok so maybe AfterMarket everything with amps and stuff sounds good I won't argue with anyone about that. I will tell you though you can't even convince me that 2.. 1 inch tweets and 2.. 5 inch speakers in the door all running off of some 18 RMS Aftermarket deck is better than the Monsoon. I have the Monsoon and I hit so hard that I have gotten a ticket for being to loud. Either you all are just not being objective or I have somthing else in my car. <<< being sarcastic it's a 2001 gls gold package with monsoon all stock.

Well its obvious you dont have the experience to know the difference.
I will take a $150 set of cheap comps, cheap head unit and give me say, 50 WRMS amp and show you something that sounds good...
The monsoon itself as a whole isnt terrible. But when you remove one item and try to replace it with aftermarket- now thats where the trouble starts...

Monsoon
Yes , that's the rub you will add an amp.....If you take just speakers and a radio the monsoon will kill that.

Do the Monsoon system have chronically bad CD players like the regular stock ones do?

so you basically need to run new wires to the front doors if you upgrade? cause eventually im going to do this, but i have always wondered what you guys meant by "running into problems"......

when in reality... if you put new speakers and an amp in, your going to have to run new wires anyway... those 22ga stockers are just horrible. you can run a 9V battery off those and thats about it.
