I have just seen a pic of an alero with vinyls covering the tail lights. The vinyls were matched exactly to the cars color and were cut into whatever design the owner wanted. Is this something i should look into or will it just look stupid when it's finished?

i've seen some clean ones and some really butt ugly ones, it all depends on what you do (and the color of you car imo)

Well i was kinda thinking about designing the lights to resemble the skyline GTR tails (circular design)....thought that would give a sort of unique look to my alero

pretty much like some people said, depends on what you cut out, but if you like it bunny what others think

Umplumpa10, I think it was my tails that you just saw. I just did that a few weeks ago and I love it. You don't see it very often so it really stands out.
I don't know about the "design cutouts" or whatever but try blacking out the whole light...I'm positive you'll like it. Very cheap mod, yet one of my favorites.

Ohhh...and you'd be surprised at how nice some electrical tape looks. Three stripes looks tight.
